Beautiful Plants For Your Interior

Research Paper 1

Since June 2024, I have been working as a research associate under Professor Saikat Sinha Roy, the Head of the Department of Economics at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. This position has given me the opportunity to contribute to a significant research project focused on the implementation of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) as a strategy for mitigating food insecurity and national vulnerabilities in developing regions. Our specific case study examines the Sundarbans, a unique and ecologically fragile area increasingly affected by climate change-induced extreme weather events.

As part of the research, I have been responsible for collecting primary data from farmers in the Kumirmari region of the Sundarbans. By using a survey, I have gained insight into their agricultural practices, crop yields, and resource management strategies, as well as their adaptation to the changing climate. The information has also deepened my understanding of the challenges these farmers face, from unpredictable weather patterns to the economic pressures on sustainable farming.

The data I’ve gathered, both quantitative and qualitative, will be critical in our efforts to evaluate how CSA techniques can be effectively integrated into the region’s agricultural practices. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive analysis that informs policies promoting resilience, sustainability, and improved livelihoods for these vulnerable communities.
